What are engraved labels?
An engraved label has its text cut into the material by laser. On a two-ply label, a coloured face sits over a contrasting core, and the engraving shows the core. White on black, black on white, white on red or black on yellow: the lettering is a permanent part of the label, which is why electricians and plant engineers choose it for switchboards, control panels, cables and equipment.
People often search for this kind of label as “Traffolyte labels”. Traffolyte is a trade mark of its owner and is used here only to describe the type of label.

Questions
What is an engraved label?
An engraved label is cut and engraved by laser, so the lettering is part of the label and not printed on top of it. A two-ply label has a coloured face over a contrasting core. The engraving goes through the face and shows the core colour, so the text cannot peel, scratch off or fade the way printed labels can.
Are engraved labels weatherproof?
The text is engraved into the material, so it stays sharp in sun, rain, dust and heat, and it can be cleaned. That makes engraved labels a good choice for switchboards, meter boxes, solar and battery installations and plant that is fitted outdoors.
Which colours and materials can I order?
Two-ply engraved acrylic in white, black, red, yellow, blue and green in 1.6 mm and 0.7 mm sheet, a brushed metal look, and stainless steel tags in 304 or 316 grade. Labels can have 3M adhesive on the back and mounting holes.
Can I order one label, or a lot of them?
Both. You can design a single label, or import a whole list of labels from a spreadsheet and see the price straight away. The switchboard kits come as a storage box of 800 circuit breaker labels.
Do you send labels all over Australia?
Yes. Labels are made on the Central Coast of NSW and sent with Australia Post. You see the shipping options and the price at checkout.
